I'm now actively pursuing ways of doing this - I've worked out how to do it, but now need to program it. Also, I envisage all sorts of issues appearing - people uploading incomplete files, too large images and so on. The .swfs would still be generated, but would have to be part of a folder with all the images inside.
Great to get further votes on this - I will do everything to make it happen. As stated above though, images would probably have to be separate to the nicely packaged .swf that the standard generation currently produces. Adding images adds greater complexity and all the additional consequences of that. It would be very useful though.
